My name is Brittany.

I am the owner and designer of the greeting card shop Darkroom and Dearly.

I have been drawing since I was very small. My first career aspiration in kindergarten was to become an illustrator of children's books. Or become a mermaid. Unfortunately the mermaid thing never panned out, but I have been fortunate enough to put my love of drawing to good use.

In 2012, I took my dream of opening an Etsy shop and turned it into a reality! I had no idea what I was doing in the beginning - my first cards were hand drawn and I was ecstatic every time someone bought one. I experienced my first "sales boom" during Father's Day season, and I quickly realized I could no longer hand draw each card. I worked very hard to change the way I designed, listed and shipped items. I have grown and learned so much since then, and as my shop continues to grow and gain success, I am constantly improving the way I do things. I have been SO grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way!

These days, I offer sweet, silly and slightly geeky designs which appeal to all those sci-fi aficionados out there (like me!) I love to draw and create designs that make people smile. In a world of technology and iPhones, I love the simple novelty of writing someone a handmade card. The "Dearly" portion of my brand name describes my love of writing and corresponding, and I hope this is an art form that never fades from our generation.
